Hello Peacefull Warriors!
I hope you are enjoying yourselves, despite our unusual circumstances. I miss you all!
I have been relaxing and taking time for myself to do some soul searching and introspection, and due to the virus life has been slower. I have consciously decided to use this time to grow and re-connect with myself, and I love every moment. I have also been teaching online, practicing yoga and meditation every day; enjoying nature, gardening, reading books, and I have been listening to great music. I have a list of goodies for you at the end of this email. Please keep reading.
As you probably know, my website is running and I have yoga classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please, check the classes on my website. It's very easy to register and pay and with the new updates the website gives you the option to buy a few classes at once with a discount, and it's very easy to keep track of the classes you still have.
On the website I teach one yoga class for the pelvic floor, yoga for strong abs and yin yoga for flexibility and mindfulness.
The classes welcome all genders and support all levels of practitioners and are also great for beginners.
If you enjoyed practicing yoga with me in the past, the online classes are a great way to keep the connection with me and to keep evolving your own practice.
I would love to see you on the mat.
If you are still hesitating to take yoga online, give yourself another chance, don't let the resistance stop you. Sometimes resistance shows up in many different forms and whatever is the excuse you have for yourself, put that aside and be brave my friend.Â
With so much going on, you may have already figured out our life may not come back to the normal knew from before, and I believe that's not bad.
The pandemic is making people like you and me reflect on life. Hopefully we can all reflect on big questions like, why we are here? What is the purpose of my life? Is it possible to start over with a blank page to rewrite our stories? Yes, I believe.
We are not in transition anymore. We are at the starting point, the place where we can rewrite a better version of the human being we used to be. Let's not waste time. Be brave and be bold my friend.
Always remember the practice of yoga can help you to be a better human. Yoga is a journey to know yourself, and that is the most amazing project a human being can invest in.
"The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates
Here are the goodies from my heart to yours:
Movies: A novel of golf and the game of life by Steven Pressfield. A true inspiration. The Legend of Bagger Vance
Filmmaker Ava DuVernay has a great documentary on Netflix, 13TH, which explores the history of race, the criminal justice and incarceration system in the United States. With a special interview on the extras with the filmmaker and Oprah Winfrey. Don't miss it!
Brene Brown has an uplifting special on Netflix check the trailer here.
Books:Â
The War of Art by Steven Pressfield. A book for all of us artists who is making this world a little better. Learn how to beat resistance and other barriers inside you. A classical book many people have embraced around the world. This is a very philosophical book with amazing insights for spiritual and ethical work.
Spontaneous Evolution by Bruce Lipton & Steve Bhaerman.  ..."here is some news that may surprise you: from an evolutionary standpoint, we are exactly where we need to be."
Dropping Ashes on the Buddha- The teachings of a Zen master Seung Sahn. Very enlightening book, with short dialogues.
Meditations by Marcus Aurelius- an old and great philosophical book.
I bought a DVD from Nelson Freire, a documentary about his life. He is a Brazilian musician well know internationally. If you don't know him listen to his music.
I made a playlist at Spotify check it out .
I hope you enjoy!
As I said, I am missing all of you and I would love to know what you are up to this Summer!
With love,
Angela M.
